There are a variety of beautiful space saving refrigerators, wine storage, freezers, ranges, cooktops, steam ovens  & dishwashers available on the market today in 18”- 24” widths built-in and free-standing!  These sizes allow more flexibility in Kitchen design than ever before.   

Some examples are Sub-Zero & Wolf for refrigeration and cooking. Bosch offers an 18” wide dishwasher.

A great space saving idea to think about is an appliance that comes in a drawer. This design is not only limited to Kitchens but may be utilized in Family Rooms, Master Baths, Bedrooms and more. Refrigerators, freezers, microwaves and dishwashers are all available in drawers, and offer a clean uncluttered look when installed under a counter.

Timeless Kitchen Design

The idea for this kitchen is to refresh and update materials with a timeless style for new appliances, cabinets and flooring. The result is simple and elegant! Soft gray and white finishes are a beautiful contrast to the rich warm tones in the wood floor.

MATERIALS & FINISHES

• Cambria quartz was chosen for the countertops, for its durability and low maintenance.

• The painted ‘Beveled Shaker’ cabinet style selected is easier to clean than a traditional Shaker and offers some great features including:

  • microwave drawer

  • trash drawer

  • pegs for dishes

  • pantry storage with spice racks

  • cutting board drawer

  • tray pullouts

• The Island became one height, and includes more surface area to meet a variety of needs. A single-bowl Kohler sink chosen for the island with a variety of accessories including:

  • cutting board

  • drain bridge that sits on top of the sink

  • stainless grid for the bottom

• A very dramatic change in this kitchen space was the flooring. The new wood floor is from United Tile’s ‘Plank’ series and covers the whole main level, replacing tired, outdated tile and carpet.

• We used one paint color for the walls and ceilings, throughout. This soft gray is very easy on the eyes!

• For the lighting, we replaced the recessed cans with LED. We have LED strip-tape lighting under the cabinets and at the upper cabinet cove areas to brighten each side of the range.
