Good Looking Grab Bars

Beauty & Safety in the Bathroom

Grab Bar & Escutcheon Trim Plate design is always on the move! Here is a selection of six grab bar choices that recently caught my eye. All great examples of universal design - providing function of a sturdy secure grip in the bath and dressy too, without an institutional look.

During construction, when walls are opened, structural blocking is put in place for these to function as grab bar - that might have a second purpose such as a towel bar, tissue paper holder or shelf in the shower. I like the shapes paired here with bar and trim plate design complimenting each other in simple and elegant ways. These are shown in Brushed Nickel but are available in many other finish options.

Beauty + Safety!

Planning a bathroom update? Think about grab bars & wall mounted benches ... before you get started!

Within the past few years, the design of grab bars has been transformed from an institutional look, to one of elegance with dual purpose functionality. Some examples are shown below: Corner Soap Shelves, Toilet Paper Holders, Towel Bars, Shower Control Accent Rings and grab bars with rubber grips. A wide variety of bathing benches are also available in wall mounted and free-standing models that provide an important safety function with a beautiful spa look.

Whether or not these features will become part of your current renovation, you may want to consider blocking and strengthening specific sections of the bathing area while walls are opened for construction - so they can be located and added easily at a later date.
